Our mission

The Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation aims at enhancing the development of an environmentally aware, participatory democratic society and institutional system by strengthening and supporting the civil environmental movements.

The foundation promotes the development of the environmental movement trough providing grants, training, fellowships and technical assistance where necessary.

ZÖME

The Greenway Methodology Association has been formed and launched

ZÖME association has been established with the aims to guarantee the quality of the Greenway method as a mean of sustainable, community based region and tourism development tool and to join local initiatives who define themselves as “greenwayers”.

Thus, the two main tasks of ZÖME are to promote the Greenway method to a wider audience and to facilitate and coordinate communication and knowledge transfer among greenway communities.

The 5–member management body of ZÖME is made up of the representatives of the Cserhát, the Heritages, Buda Land and Pilis Greenways as well as the national program coordination provided by Ökotárs.

ZÖME is represented on the new website of the Greenway movement as well, at www.zoldutak.hu the most up-to date information source about Hungarian Greenways. The website offers information for everyday visitors and also helps the communication of greenway developers. Beyond general information, introduction of the six operating greenways, related articles and international examples press news, an event calendar and short films about earlier greenway events are also available there.
