Our mission

The Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation aims at enhancing the development of an environmentally aware, participatory democratic society and institutional system by strengthening and supporting the civil environmental movements.

The foundation promotes the development of the environmental movement trough providing grants, training, fellowships and technical assistance where necessary.

Green Belt

Together with MOL we announced our regional environmental program in September for the second time. The proposals were evaluated in the beginning of 2007, the results were announced in the framework of a media event in Feburary.

As a continuation of our long-term cooperation we published the Green Belt Program building on the success of the earlier Community Tree Planting Program. The goals of the program were extended and the overall amount of funds was raised too in the new round: Beyond simple tree planting it contributed to the creation and restoration of community green areas through supporting civil organizations and schools.

The program, which had a regional scope was announced under same conditions in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia with a 10 million HUF (approx € 40 000 ) grant budget. HEPF received more than 200 proposals until the deadline. The Grant Committee decided to support 33 organizations with grants between 100,000 and 700,000 HUF (€ 400 - 2800).
