Our mission

The Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation aims at enhancing the development of an environmentally aware, participatory democratic society and institutional system by strengthening and supporting the civil environmental movements.

The foundation promotes the development of the environmental movement trough providing grants, training, fellowships and technical assistance where necessary.

The grant program of Ökotárs Alapítvány (HEPF)

The goals and criteria of the general small grant program of Ökotárs has been changed. For the first time in 2007, a new call for proposals was published. Thanks to the support of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, in the framework of this new grant program called Open Society – Healthy Environment we can support environmental advocacy and watchdog activities, publicity and community participation in decision making. In the first year of the program we received 44 applications of which 29 proposals have been supported with 11,284,943 HUF (€ 45,894).

Though these activities form the basis of democratic society and healthy communities, we see that it is almost impossible to find state or EU funding or even individual support for them. However, a few hundred thousand forints already mean significant help in the representation of these cases.
