On the occasion of the Mobility Week 2005, HEPF contributed to programs promoting non-motorized traffic of two NGOs: in Sopron we supported the event of Castanea Association and in Budapest that of the Hungarian Young Greens.
Mobility Week is one opportunity to draw people's attention to how much better it is to live in cities and towns with less smog, and more green, and where there is more sustainable public transport services and less cars.
Castanea Association organised a roundtable discussion with the participation of the city and its environs transport companies authorities, stakeholders and NGOs. As a result of this event, planners of city traffic now involve interested groups in the new local planning processes and in the designation of bicycle roads.
In Budapest,Young Greens engaged the visitors of the ARC open-air poster exhibition with a bicycle hurdle-path, ‘bike sculpturing’ and showed the film ‘Still We Ride’.
