Hungarian Young Greens – Tu Bishvat New Year of Trees
In modern Israel, the ancient tradition of Tu BiShvat became the Earth Day of Jewry.
It’s central aim to show the context of religious and ecological ideas by consecrating the ties among the Eternal, humanity and the Planet, and by giving hommage to the Divine creative force as well as the unique diversity of the Planet.
In 2005, Hungarian Young Greens organized this event for the second time together with Marom, a Jewish organization, as part of a wider awareness raising process. The organizers intended to enhance the green aspect of the religious holiday.
HEPF has supported the costs of coordination, decoration, leaflets and posters.
